Right-handed starter Adam Mazur, the Padres’ №7 prospect, worked six scoreless innings to open Double-A San Antonio’s 4–0 shutout win at Arkansas Wednesday night.

Mazur gave up four hits and issued two walks with five strikeouts to improve to 2–1 while lowering his earned run average to 2.39.

Center fielder Jakob Marsee (.185), the Padres’ №9 prospect, had a solo home run in two at-bats with two walks, two stolen bases (12 on the season) and two runs scored for the Missions. First baseman Nathan Martorella (.294) was 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs. Catcher Brandon Valenzuela (.266), the Padres’ №17 prospect, had a two-run single in four at-bats.

Left-handed starter Jagger Haynes, the Padres’ №24 prospect, gave up one run on four hits and three walks with a strikeout in six innings for High Single-A Fort Wayne to lower his ERA to 10.13.

Center fielder Homer Bush Jr. (.215), the Padres’ №11 prospect, was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Third baseman Devin Ortiz (.313), who earlier Wednesday was named Fort Wayne’s Player of the Month for April, hit two, solo home runs in four at-bats. Catcher Ethan Salas (.203), the Padres’ №1 prospect, was 0-for-5 with a RBI.

Designated hitter J.D. Gonzalez (.217), the Padres’ №18 prospect, was 1-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs and a run scored. Center fielder Dillon Head (.242), the Padres’ №6 prospect, was 1-for-4 with a walk. Seventeen-year-old shortstop Leodalis De Vries (.148), the Padres’ №5 prospect, was 0-for-4 with a walk. Shortstop Rosman Verdugo (.204), the Padres’ №29 prospect, was 0-for-4 with a stolen base and a run.

AROUND THE FARM:

TRIPLE-A EL PASO (13–16) — CHIHUAHUAS 6, Sugar Land 4: SS Mason McCoy (.206) was 2-for-3 with a 3-run home run. C Brett Sullivan (.319) had a 2-run home run in 4 at-bats. 1B Donovan Solano (.313) was 2-for-4 with a double, a RBI and a run scored. LF Tirso Ornelas (.264) was 2-for-4 with a double and a run. DH Matthew Batten (.227) had a double in 2 ABs with 2 walks and 2 runs. Starting RH Gabe Mosser (12.38 ERA) gave up 4 runs on 6 hits and a walk with 4 strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings. RH Sean Reynolds (2–0, 8.25) issued 2 BBs with 4 Ks in 2 1/3 hitless, scoreless IPs to earn the win. RH Kevin Kopps (3.14) allowed a hit with a K in a scoreless IP. RH Nick Hernandez (3.72) issued a BB with a K in an otherwise perfect IP. LH Austin Davis (5.40) issued a BB in an otherwise perfect IP to earn his second save.

DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (12–11) — Missions 4, ARKANSAS 0: LF Cole Cummings (.259) had a RBI double in 3 at-bats with a walk behind Marsee, Martorella and Valenzuela. DH Robert Perez Jr. (.203) was 1-for-4. LH Jason Blanchard (0.66 ERA) followed Mazur and gave up a hit and a walk with 3 strikeouts in a scoreless IP. RH Woo-Suk Go (4.38) issued 2 BBs with 2 Ks in a hitless, scoreless IP. LH Jayvien Sandridge (0.96) completed the shutout, giving up a hit in the ninth.

HIGH SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (8–14) — LAKE COUNTY 7, TinCaps 6: SS Nik McClaughry (.192) was 2-for-4 with a double, a RBI and a run scored behind Bush, Salas and Ortiz. RF Kai Murphy (.265) was 2-for-4 with a double, a RBI and a walk. 2B Nerwillian Cedeno (.172) was 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run. C Anthony Vilar (.083) was 1-for-4 with a RBI and a run. LH Ryan Och (5.00 ERA) followed Haynes and gave up 3 runs on 5 hits in one-third of an inning. LH Mitchell Miller (.1–2, 5.91) gave up 3 runs on 5 hits with 3 Ks in 2 IPs to take the loss. RH Jose Geraldo (3.12) issued 2 walks without retiring a batter, including a decisive walk-off walk.

SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (9–12) — SAN JOSE 7, Storm 3: 1B Romeo Sanabria (.304) had a double in 4 at-bats behind Gonzalez, Head, De Vries and Verdugo. 2B Wyatt Hoffman (.244) was 1-for-4. Starting RH Jose Luis Reyes (9.60 ERA) gave up 3 runs on 6 hits and a walk with 2 strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. RH Kobe Robinson (3.52) gave up 3 hits and a BB with 2 Ks in 2 1/3 scoreless IPs. RH Luis German (0–1, 8.22) gave up 4 runs (1 earned) on a hit and 3 BBs in two-thirds of an IP to take the loss. RH Thomas Balboni Jr. (3.24) struck out the only hitter he faced.
