Left-hander Miguel Cienfuegos allowed two hits and no walks with five strikeouts in a seven-inning complete game Thursday night leading High Single-A Fort Wayne to a 3–0, 3–1 doubleheader sweep of Lake County.

Cienfuegos even his record at 2–2 while lowering his ERA to 3.22.

Right-handed reliever Alek Jacob, the Padres’ №20 prospect, allowed a hit with a strikeout in a scoreless inning for Triple-A El Paso to lower his earned run average to 5.11. Right-handed reliever Lake Bachar, the Chihuahuas Pitcher of the Month for April, issued a walk with two strikeouts in a hitless, scoreless inning to lower his ERA to 1.15.

Shortstop Rosman Verdugo (.192), the Padres’ №29 prospect, was 0-for-3 with a run scored for Single-A Lake Elsinore.

AROUND THE FARM:

TRIPLE-A EL PASO (13–17) — 2B Nate Mondou (.293) was 3-for-4 with a home run, 4 RBIs, a walk and a stolen base. LF Matthew Batten (.241) was 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run. DH Donovan Solano (.306) was 1-for-4 with a RBI, a walk and a run. 3B Clay Dungan (.278) was 1-for-3 with a walk, a hit-by-pitch, a stolen base and a run. CF Bryce Johnson (.221) was 1-for-3 with a walk. 1B Brett Sullivan (.316) was 1-for-4 with a walk and a run. SS Mason McCoy (.208) was 1-for-4. Starting RH Randy Vasquez (8.40 ERA) gave up 4 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks with 3 strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings. LH Daniel Camarena (9.92) issued a walk in one-third inning. LH Paul Fry (4.32) gave up a run on 2 hits and a BB with a K in 2 IPs. RH Matt Festa (0–1, 5.84) gave up 3 runs on 4 hits and a BB in an IP to suffer the loss.

DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (12–11) — The Missions were rained out at Arkansas Thursday. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Friday (May 3).

HIGH SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (10–14) — SS Nik McClaughry (.211) was 2-for-5 in the doubleheader with a double, walk and 2 runs scored. RF Kai Murphy (.274) had a double and triple in 5 at-bats with 2 RBIs, a sacrifice bunt and a run. DH Albert Fabian (.231) was 2-for-5 with a walk, 2 stolen bases. 2B Nerwillian Cedeno (.188) was 2-for-6. C Anthony Vilar (.115) was 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs. LF-CF Tyler Roberston (.221) was 1-for-6 with a run. LF Lucas Dunn (.149) was 1-for-3. RH Tyler Morgan (2.81 ERA) started the second game and gave up a run on 3 hits and 3 walks with a strikeout in 3 innings. RH Joan Gonzalez (2–0, 0.77) allowed a hit and 2 BB with 4 Ks in 2 IPs to earn the win. RH Manuel Castro (5.40) had a K in 2 perfect IPs to earn his third save.

SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (9–13) — SAN JOSE 4, Storm 2: C Carlos Rodriguez (.174) had a double in 3 at-bats with a run. SS Jay Beshears (.333) was 1-for-4. 3B Jose Sanabria (.192) was 1-for-3. LF Nick Vogt (.200) was 0-for-3 with a RBI. Starting LH Harry Gustin (0–2, 8.25 ERA) gave up 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks with 2 strikeouts in 4 innings to take the loss. RH Keegan Collett (12.27) issued a BB with 2 Ks in 2 otherwise perfect IPs. LH Javier Chacon (3.45) issued 3 BBs with 4 Ks in 2 hitless, scoreless IPs.
