PADRES ON DECK: 17-year-old SS Leodalis De Vries has second straight 2-hit game at A-Lake Elsinore

Seventeen-year-old shortstop Leodalis De Vries had his second straight two-hit game for Single-A Lake Elsinore. The top prospect in the 2024 international signing class and already the Pades’ №5 prospect, De Vries was 2-for-5 with his first triple, four RBIs and a run scored.

Center fielder Dillon Head, 19, the Padres’ №6 prospect, was 1-for-4 for the Storm with a walk and two runs scored. He is hitting .278. Catcher J.D. Gonzalez, 18, the Padres’ №18 prospect, was 0-for-3 with two sacrifice flies.

Right-handed starter Adam Mazur sting of scoreless innings for Double-A San Antonio ended at 14. The Padres’ №7 prospect gave up seven runs (six earned) on nine hits with eight strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings as his earned run average climbed to 3.10.

Center fielder Homer Bush Jr. (.184), the Padres’ №11 prospect, was 0-for-2 with two walks and his eighth stolen base for High Single-A Fort Wayne.

AROUND THE FARM:

TRIPLE-A EL PASO (10–13) — The Chihuahuas were rained out at Tacoma Thursday night. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Friday (April 26).

DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (10–8) — Wichita 9, MISSIONS 2: RH Ethan Routzahn (3.60 ERA) followed Mazur and gave up 2 runs (1 earned) on a hit and 2 walks with 3 strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings. LH Jason Blanchard (0.77) issued a BB with a K in an otherwise 2 perfect IPs. RH Woo-Suk Go (5.40) gave up a hit in a scoreless IP. DH Zach Reks (.188) and SS Ray-Patrick Didder (.200) were each 1-for-3. C Michael De La Cruz (.200) was 1-for-3 with a run scored. 2B Ripken Reyes (.224) was 1-for-4 with a RBI.

HIGH SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (8–9) — Great Lakes 5, TIN CAPS 1: 3B Devin Ortiz (.327) was 2-for-4 with a run scored behind Bush. Starting LH Miguel Cienfuegos (1–2, 4.70 ERA) gave up 4 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks with a strikeout in 4 2/3 innings to take the loss. RH Joan Gonzalez (0.93) allowed a hit and a BB with 3 Ks in 3 1/3 scoreless IPs. LH Ryan Och (1.17) gave up a run on 2 hits and a BB with 2 Ks in two-thirds of an IP. LH Mitchell Miller (1.23) issued a walk with a K in one-third of a scoreless IP.

SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (8–8) — RANCHO CUCAMONGA 12, Storm 10: DH-3B Jay Beshears (.365) was 4-for-5 with a double, a walk and 2 runs scored behind De Vries, Head and Gonzalez. RF Braedon Karpathios (.295) was 3-for-5 with a RBI and 2 runs. 1B Romeo Sanabria (.317) had a RBI double in 3 at-bats with 2 walks and a stolen base. 3B-P Wyatt Hoffman (.207) was 1-for-5 with a stolen base and pitched a perfect two-thirds of an inning. Starting LH Harry Gustin (0–1, 7.89 ERA) gave up 6 runs (4 earned) on 5 hits and a walk with 2 strikeouts in 2 1/3 IPs to take the loss. RH Alejandro Lugo (3.09) gave up a run on 4 BBs and 5 Ks in 2 1/3 IPs. LH Javier Chacon (4.22) gave up 5 runs (3 earned) on 3 hitsand 2 BBs with 2 Ks in an IP. RH Adan Moreno allowed a hit and a BB with 2 Ks in 1 2/3 scoreless IPs in his Storm debut.
